What is The Wyrd Society?
The Wyrd Society is a circle of readers, seekers, witches, and wyrd folk committed to exploring the occult through its literature, from grimoires and magical philosophy to witchcraft histories and modern mystic texts. We gather to learn, question, experiment, and connect, honoring the lineage of the written word as a tool of transformation. In true wyrd fashion, we embrace curiosity, respect, and the living mystery at the heart of every book.
Season Two
(Sept 2026–Feb 2027)
In season two, we will be reading and discussing Psychomagic by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
It’s described as a “healing path using the power of dreams, theater, poetry, and shamanism”. Psychomagic presents the shamanic and genealogical principles Jodorowsky discovered to create a healing therapy that could use the powers of dreams, art, and theater to empower individuals to heal wounds that in some cases had traveled through generations. The concrete and often surreal poetic actions Jodorowsky employs are part of an elaborate strategy intended to break apart the dysfunctional persona with whom the patient identifies in order to connect with a deeper self. That is when true transformation can manifest.
The book is 304 pages.
Topics include shamanic psychotherapy, symbolic acts, and the language of dreams.
This second season runs for six sessions, covering the full book from September 2026 through February 2027.
